The genome stability group
welcome to the website of the genome stability group
italian national institute of health
Campus dell'Istituto Superiore di Sanità. Piazzale Valerio Massimo, 5 - 00161 Rome (Italy)
Our research group, the FranPi labs, is dedicated to understanding the complex mechanisms that control DNA replication and they relationship with cancer and human diseases. Led by Dr. Annapaola Franchitto and Dr. Pietro Pichierri, we investigate how cells respond to perturbations in DNA replication, with the ultimate goal of unlocking new insights into the basic molecular mechanisms for the prevention and therapy of human pathologies
Hot from the press!
We are molecular cell biologists who want to understand how so small things - our cells - perform so huge tasks!
We use a multitude of approaches, from basic immunofluorescence to super-resolution imaging, and omics to functionally dissect pathways and identify novel therapy, biomarkers and targets.
Our team supports an inclusive and supportive environment where passionate-for-science people can enjoy science, and doing exciting discoveries!
Our team is built around collaboration. Each member oversees specific projects and collaborates with other members to reach the overall goals of the group.
We have PhD and Postdoc positions open, hurry-up!
We always welcome informal request from undergrads and perspective postgrad students.
Our PhD students are enrolled in prestigious PhD courses of the Sapienza University of Rome and other Italian Universities.
We welcome also informal enquires from more senior foreign postdocs willing to apply with us for Marie Sklodowska Curie or EMBO postdoc fellowships.
